Now whenever you visit Ottawa, keep your rear-view mirror focused on two separate City Police cruiser designs: the traditional white car or SUV with blue stripes, lettering and decals, and the new look cruisers unveiled Monday, February 26th.
The newer police vehicles, in dark blue with white side panels and blue lettering are similar to what’s being used in other large Ontario municipalities, and 75 of the new distinctive design units will roll off the assembly line and onto streets in the Nation’s Capital in 2024.
Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs says completely transitioning the fleet will take an estimated four to five years.
