The historic Blakeney Bridge is about to become a thing of the past.
The obsolete structure is being replaced this summer, and the County of Lanark is hosting a public information centre (PIC) about the project on Thursday February 29th at the Almonte and District Community Centre, 182 Bridge Street.
The event takes place from 6-8PM.
The existing single-lane bridge across the Mississippi River is more than 100 years old and is being replaced by a two-lane modular steel bridge, including a dedicated 1.6-metre lane for pedestrians and cyclists.
The public information centre (PIC) will be held in a drop-in format, with County staff on hand to answer questions.
