Virtual Care is expanding in the Ontario Health East region.
The service is for people who are experiencing an urgent medical condition, and allows for more timely care with a virtual team works led by a Nurse Practitioner.
The service is open 7 days a week between the hours of 1PM and 9PM.
Some of the symptoms you are experiencing that the Virtual Team can assist you with may include a new or persistent cough, fever, or rash; imminent concerns that are not life or limb threatening.
If patients do not have a Primary Care Provider, they will be provided with information on how to find a family Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or specialist using Health811.
If the nurse practitioner feels a patient is in need of emergency care, they will work with local hospital systems and refer you to an Emergency Department.
