The official kickoff for Arnprior Regional Health’s CT Scanner Campaign came at the Penny Stashick Memorial Ugly Sweater Walk December 2nd.
ARHF Executive Director Ben Gardiner says the service has not been available locally.
He says having a CT scanner locally will eliminate what is currently a lot of stress from the diagnostic process.
Gardiner says a local CT scanner will be a big time saver in many ways.
The ARHF Executive Director says as an existing space will be renovated, the installation will not be as costly as otherwise.
2.2 million dollars will be required to accomplish the mission.
And he says while the community has done without for so long, we won’t have to wait much longer (as the first CT scans will be performed in late 2024).
Gardiner says you’ll be hearing about events associated with the campaign- and one fundraising mechanism is already in effect.
While the CT scanner will assist patients and clients of the local hospital, it may also serve to attract doctors to town.
The ARHF Executive Director is very moved that Reverend Leo Hughes and his spouse decided to make the donation of Hughes Coca-Cola memorabilia collection so that others would not have to experience the same circumstances in the future.
