Because the Arnprior Opportunity Shop relies on volunteer labour, prices are not inflated by the need to pay staff.
That’s Opportunity Shop Manager Gail Okum, who says their business model relies on community generosity, quality donations and the free labour of volunteers.
Okum says after fifty years, community members seem to know the drill by heart.
The Arnprior Opportunity Shop Facebook page is loaded with some of the great ideas you will find at the Shop’s Christmas Sale, hosted by the Arnprior and District Museum, today and tomorrow.
There’s a great line-up of quilts in various sizes at spectacular prices, ornaments and Christmas decorations galore, enough ugly sweaters to dress the town for the upcoming Penny Stashick Ugly Christmas Sweater Walk, an array of coats and Christmas clothing; there’s just so much to thrill to.
All items are inspected for quality, and sales are cash only, so bring as much as you can and shop to your heart’s content today (November 15th) from 10AM to 6PM and tomorrow (November 16th) from 10AM to 1PM.
The spacious atmosphere at the Arnprior and District Museum keeps neighbours from knocking elbows as they pick up some treasures for those on their gift list- or shop for themselves; all proceeds end up with Arnprior Regional Health, consistent with the Opportunity Shop’s mandate.
