Our local public school board is mourning the loss of one of their own.
Renfrew County District School Board Chair Susan Humphries tells Oldies News that Trustee and former Chair Bryon Morris passed away at the age of 75 last week after a brief illness.
The retired RCDSB educator first joined the board as a trustee in 1976 and rejoined them in 2014 after some time away.
Humphries says Morris “was a dedicated member of all major committees, where his insights and leadership made a significant impact.”
She adds that Bryon’s “legacy will live on in the projects and initiatives he helped shape during his time with the RCDSB,” and “his dedication to the welfare and success of our students has left an impressionable mark.”
The school board is sending their deepest condolences to Morris’ wife and fellow educator, Jennifer, their children, and grandchildren, noting that “his memory will be honored in a manner befitting his outstanding contributions to the RCDSB.”
