Royal Canadian Legion Branch 174’s 2023 Poppy campaign is in full swing, following a presentation to Arnprior Mayor Lisa McGee by Branch President Vic Garbutt last Friday (October 27th).
Darryl Donald is Vice-Chair of this year’s campaign.
She says watch for Legion Poppy volunteers at key locations in the community.
Poppies are also available at Town of Arnprior Office, and at the Nick Smith Centre.
A question asked every year is this year posed to Darryl Donald: What are the poppy sale proceeds used for?
The Poppy Campaign Vice-Chair says no one is pressuring you to purchase a poppy.
Of course many residents buy multiple poppies every year because driver’s-side seatbelts get in the way of keeping them on your lapel.
Donald says, there’s an answer for that.
Unfortunately the poppy centres were in limited supply, but quantities of that option will likely be increased for next year’s campaign.
