Rayburn Evans’ off-farm job is as a drover, while he still maintains a three hundred head beef operation on the 12th line in Pakenham.
The original family farm is submerged in the Madawaska head-pond, and Evans has been fifty-four years with the sales barns. He says the employment-related school subjects of spelling, addition and subtraction have stood him in good stead since leaving school at age 15.
