Elana Prospero Interview
As a toddler she realized she was the most proficient in a family of sibbling swimmers, and never looked back. Comfort in the water is a feeling Prospero wishes to share with everyone. Beginning as a lifeguard and swim instructor, Elana’s talents were pushed towards coaching by her supervisor- building a swim team around Junior Lifeguard competitions at her home pool. Prospero’s other love was the Ottawa Valley, kindled by the presence of a family cottage. Elana believes the two attractions were destined to intersect- and here she is, head coach of the Blue Fish Swim Team.

There were thirty-three swimmers in the Bluefish program last season, and this year there are ambitions plans to grow the club to sixty participants.
Prospero derives immense satisfaction in helping young swimmers mature to greater levels of comfort and success.

Individuated attention, consistent with each swimmer’s learning attributes, is a challenge Elana Prospero rises to. Just as a school of fish functions as a unit, so too does Elana see the Bluefish Swim Team- coaches and club members, function as one.
