Centennial Lake Fire Aftermath Account

Ministry of Natural Resources crews remain on the site of the Centennial Lake Fire, attending to whatever hotspots may be detected; that’s according to Gail Holtzhauer, owner of Snider’s Tent and Trailer Park on Airds Lake Road.

She says fire crews came from all over to assist- she knows, they were parked on her property

Holtzhauer herself was not evacuated, and so had a bird’s eye view of the week’s firefighting activities.

The Snider’s Tent and Trailer Park proprietor says not far behind the amount of fire crews was the presence of the national media- most of which were quite respectful.

She’s not entirely impressed with information supplied by Greater Madawaska Township via social media, but notes the entire Council is new to office this term, and the blaze presented quite the learning curve.

Holtzhauer is thankful things have turned out as best they could.
