On-again off-again Flood Warnings for the Lower Ottawa River are back on again.
As at Friday afternoon (April 28th) more rain expected from Saturday through Tuesday will dramatically increase water volumes from Arnprior to Hawkesbury.
The Ottawa River Regulating Committee anticipates that water levels along the main stem of the Ottawa River will rise again next week, possibly exceeding major flood thresholds.
Rainfall runoff could affect multiple streets, lawns and houses in low-lying areas- but levels are currently expected to remain below the historical flood levels of 2019.
The MVCA is concerned that water levels in the Constance Bay area are expected to rise early next week by about 0.3 m above those seen on Friday.
Residents in flood-prone areas should take necessary precautions.
The Flood Warning Statement will remain in effect until Friday May 5th at 5PM, and updated as necessary.
