Critical factors are converging, and a Flood Warning Statement has been issued for the Lower Ottawa River from Arnprior to Hawkesbury. It supercedes a Flood Watch forecast issued last Friday.
A number of authorities are sharing their concerns, including the MNRF, MVCA and the Ottawa River Regulating Committee.
About twenty homes in east-end Arnprior that are traditionally vulnerable to flooding should consider taking precautions including sandbagging, and the trail to the Marina has been signed with precautionary warnings.
Impacted areas along the Ottawa include flood-prone areas bordering Chats Lake, the Constance Bay area, and Britannia- with further concerns continuing downriver to Montreal.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring within specific watercourses and municipalities.
