A good news story some twenty-plus years in the making should not be overlooked just because it dates from February.
It may be difficult not to think of the Almonte Ottawa Road location of Your Independent Grocer as “Patrice’s Independent” even yet.
Al Roberts, of the Almonte General Hospital-Fairview Manor Foundation, acknowledges the community contributions of Guido and Tanya Patrice over their two-decade proprietorship.
Roberts refers to a February 12th event held in the couple’s honour where the pair were feted.
The Patrices also were strong supporters of Celt Fest and Puppets Up!
The Almonte General Hospital-Fairview Manor Foundation spokesperson says, although retired, the couple are remaining in the community.
Of course the Patrices thanked their customers and wonderful staff for helping them to support the community.
In addition to Foundation members, the Patrices were celebrated by civic leaders, as Councillor Mary-Lou Souter thanked them on behalf of Mayor Christa Lowry, Council and the entire community.
