A local hockey team will be going for gold at the 2023 Ontario Winter Games in Renfrew County.
The Ottawa Valley Titans will play the Sun County Panthers at the Ma-te- Way Activity Centre at 12:00pm today (Sunday, February 5th).
There are four local hockey players on the Ottawa Valley Titans: goalie Brian Rathwell from Pembroke; defencemen Andrew Enright from Cobden; defencemen Tyler McEnery from Eganville; and forward Kaden McGregor from Braeside. The Titans coach Scott Buffam is also from Arnprior.
On Friday, the Titans beat the Toronto Marlies 3-2 and the Barrie Colts 4-2. On Saturday, the Ottawa Valley Titans beat the Soo Greyhounds 13-4 and the Niagara North Stars by a score of 7-2.
The Sun County Panthers took a 4-0 win over the Niagara North Stars and a 5-2 win over Team HNO on Friday. On Saturday, the Panthers beat Ottawa Myers Automotive 5-2 and the Barrie Colts 2-1.
The bronze medal game will be played between the Barrie Colts and Niagara North Stars at 9:00am this morning at Ma-te-Way.
