It’s not as complicated as all that- but it is a little harder.
Jane Dowd, the Acting Aquatics and Facilities Supervisor at Arnprior’s Nick Smith Centre, says she’s been at the NSC since 2010 and now watches the Red Cross towel-drying at pool side.
Dowd says each level of course offered now comes with a simplified name but a more thorough curriculum.
She says the Life Saving Society wants to better prepare swimmers to cope in difficult situations that require treading water, or maintaining composure when you become disoriented.
The Life Saving Swim Program requires a superior level of physical fitness.
Dowd says you can preview the criteria in advance on-line, and registration begins January 4th at 9AM.
