If you believe in numerology, things auger well for the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club, which celebrated its 110th year in the 111th anniversary since its creation- on Saturday, June 11th!
Due to COVID restrictions last year, celebrations were postponed to this season.
The President of the Ontario Lawn Bowling Association, Phillip Francis was there and joined the celebrations, presenting a plaque recognizing the the milestone.
In 1911, the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club was established using the green beside the Old Town Hall.
The Club moved to 157 Robert Street in 1933, which had once been a cricket clubhouse.
The Almonte Lawn Bowling Club’s future plans involve major capital upgrades over the next few years to improve accessibility (ramps and washrooms) as well build bocce ball and pickleball courts.
