The Silver Chain Challenge began as a friendly fitness competition between Renfrew and Lanark Counties- but you can’t keep a good thing all to yourself.
Recreation Programmer with the Town of Arnprior, Lucas Power, says now all of the counties of Eastern Ontario participate.
And, as the very name implies, “silver chain” had its origins as a cycling competition.
Power says Arnprior residents can even “double dip” their activities from the current Recreation Passport campaign, and tally them in as Silver Chain Challenge participation.
Silverchainchallenge.ca is the web address, and the deadline to log your kilometres is 5PM Friday July 1st.
No prizes to win in this one, just bragging rights for your county of residence.
