The range of municipalities across Lanark County are saluting Inspector Karuna Padiachi’s appointment as OPP Detachment Commander earlier this month.
Padiachi had been Acting Commander at the Lanark County Detachment since September 2019.
Inspector Padiachi was selected through a position-specific evaluation process which including an interview with police services board representatives, and is receiving high praise from the County communities involved.
Inspector Padiachi began his career with the Ontario Provincial Police in in 1994 in Iroquois Falls, then worked in Southwestern Ontario before moving to the Investigation and Support Bureau with the Kemptville Detachment, and becoming Detachment Manager in Lanark County.
Padiachi was also seconded to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Integrated National Security Unit (INSET) in Ottawa, among other distinctions.
