Gilks Sports and Promo stepped up to the plate a few years ago, when Play-It-Again Sports in Arnprior closed by beginning to offer the skate sharpening service Play-It-Again had provided to the community, and co-proprietor Karen Gilks says during the pandemic, the service became a life-saver for their business- as curbside skate sharpening was all they were allowed to do.
Karen is from a military family and called Forces Bases around the globe home before settling in the Valley and opening their business, initially in Arnprior, approaching forty years ago.
