His attempted end-run around COVID restrictions may have earned a Carleton Place hair-cutter an 880 dollar fine, but Towne Barber Kyle Blundell won the hearts of his community in the process.
CityNews is reporting that residents have rallied to his side, after he was fined for operating an outdoor tented salon in mid-June, incurring the wrath of the Leeds-Grenville-Lanark District Health Unit in the process.
Blundell says the money raised was more than enough to pay the fine, and he’s donating the rest to the Lanark Food Bank as a result.
The Towne Barber has returned to business under Stage Two re-opening provisions, and is located at 103 Bridge Street in Carleton Place.
