It’s hardly breaking news, but after being in the works since 2017, the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) will launch a third request for proposals (RFP) for the construction of a new francophone Catholic elementary school in Arnprior.
The announcement was made Tuesday.
2017 and 2018 RFPs saw responses come in significantly over-budget, and this time the Ministry of Education has added almost a million additional dollars ($996,524) to the funding mix.
That money will be added to an accumulated surplus and a 2019 re-design in advance of the release of this third request-for-proposals for the facility.
Minister of Education Stephen Lecce says the new francophone Catholic elementary forms part of the PC Government’s 14 billion dollar commitment over 10 years to build new schools in Ontario.
CECCE Chair Johanne Lacombe thanks thank the community for its patience and understanding throughout
the whole process of bringing this project to fruition.
With close to 26,000 students attending its 45 elementary schools and 13 high schools, as well as its Virtual Learning Academy and school for adults, the CECCE is the largest Canadian network of French-language schools outside Quebec.
