A weekend tragedy in southwestern Ottawa has left one teenager deceased and another one seriously injured as two off-road vehicles collided with a van at the intersection of Franktown and Munster roads.
The Ottawa Police Service says that about 4PM Sunday three dirt bike riders were heading northbound on Munster Rd. At the intersection of Franktown Rd., two of the riders collided with a vehicle that was heading east.
Both young riders were transported to hospital. A 14-year-old boy died as a result of his injuries.
The second rider, a 15-year-old boy, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ottawa Police extends condolences to the family of the victim.
The incident remains under investigation by the OPS Collision Investigation Unit. No further details are available at this time.
