A homeless resident is returning to Arnprior. Guy Lamarche says he had to move his tiny home or “bunkie” before the end of the month after the property he was staying at in Carp sold.
Lamarche says an 18-wheeler will be coming with a crane to lift and transport the bunkie to Arnprior. He adds they will likely have a police escort and he expects to arrive in Arnprior sometime after noon.
Lamarche says once he returns to Arnprior he will be in a position to test the by-law regarding tiny homes and bunkies. Arnprior town council would need to update their zoning by-laws to accommodate these types of buildings. Lamarche hopes he’s able to help start a village of tiny homes for the poor and homeless in Arnprior.
Lamarche says he’s been overwhelmed with the support he’s received from the community online.
