An articulate spokesperson for the cause of the homeless in Arnprior is returning to the community sooner than he may have expected.
Guy Lamarche accepted an offer from a farmer in Carp to construct a small home “bunkie” on a farm in Carp, but the property has been sold and the new owner has other plans for the site.
Lamarche says he constructed his bunkie for portability- and as long as it is placed on a flatbed and stands no higher than fourteen feet it won’t be all that difficult to move it back to town.
The proposed tiny home village is one of fifty-two recommendations being considered by the Greater Arnprior Community Council on Poverty and Homelessness, of which Lamarche is a member.
He appreciates efforts to support his move from Carp back to Arnprior, but Lamarche says he took the risk in moving, and he’ll shoulder the costs of relocation.
Those who wish to follow his efforts at advocacy on behalf of others in the same plight can follow Lamarche’s progress at the Facebook Page, Arnprior-On The Streets.
