You’ve seen the mural on the exterior wall of the MP/MPP office in Bridge Street in Carleton Place?
The one of the dogfight that saw German World War One flying ace Baron Von Richthofen shot down by local boy, A. Roy Brown?
Well, history comes alive again on Saturday, as a commemorative statue to the Royal Naval Air Service pilot and Captain is to be unveiled.
The event will be facebooked-live on the Carleton Place Town Hall page Saturday at 1PM as the statue is unveiled.
A larger celebratory event is slated for June 6th of 2021.
Brown, a Carleton Place native, was awarded a Distinguished Service Cross for his deed.
He passed away March 9th of 1944.
