A milestone has been reached with expansion of Arnprior’s Grove Nursing Home.
Construction of the new facility has reached the halfway point, and Eric Hanna, the Chief Executive Officer of Arnprior Regional Health can’t contain himself.
Hanna says the first documents relating to the proposed expansion are now ten years old.
He says the fifty percent complete figure doesn’t relate to the number of bricks laid at the site, rather it’s left to the bean-counters to determine.
The Arnprior Regional Health CEO notes that while the new Grove Home adds 36 beds, bringing its total to 96 residents, the Ministry of Longterm Care closed 40 beds across Renfrew County that were four-to-a-room, due to COVID concerns.
Interior construction will continue over the winter months, with June 1st occupancy and an opening slated for August of 2021.
