The Carleton Place and District Youth Centre (CORE) has had a tough go of things in 2020.
The short form of its mission statement is “to inspire, engage and celebrate youth,” and a new strategic plan was being rolled out when COVID struck.
CORE had to close its doors, and saw the popular March break Camp cancelled.
The Carleton Place Youth Centre reopened in July with a modified format for its outdoor Summer Camp activities, and was able to offer week after week of both leadership and summer activities.
As summer winds down CORE will focus on things to do this fall- though what form those activities will take has yet to be determined.
As always, new volunteers and community partnerships are being welcomed, and updates on activities and plans will be shared on Facebook at coreyouthservices- or check the group’s website.
