You may recall that just before the pandemic hit, movie star Mel Gibson was in the Valley, portraying his rather unique take on Santa Claus, in a different sort of film than the traditional Hallmark Christmas flicks normally shot in our pristine communities.
Even though scenes in Pakenham were scratched by bad weather, there were locations on both sides of the nation’s capital where filming of the movie “Fatman” was scheduled.
One of those was Chesterville, and involved Jim Rankin’s firm.
In April, two weeks later, Rankin discovered not only was the Fatman website down, its office in Orleans was shuttered.
Fatman Productions personnel have not returned calls to Oldies 107.7
Rankin’s next move will be to put a lien (lean) on the Fatman movie, similar to what a mechanic does to you car if you don’t pay up.
If you are also affected, and would like to join Rankin’s legal action, get in touch with
