The Pembroke Regional Hospital is working with health care facilities and hospitals in the region in order to ensure they have enough supplies to deal with COVID-19 when they are needed most.
PRH President and CEO Pierre Noel says they are working with the regional Command Centre to carefully manage supplies. Noel says they have an internal working group meeting daily to review supply needs and inventory. He adds although there’s been some limitations, they are still able to get what is needed for patients and staff.
Noel says the use of personal protective equipment has increased well beyond normal circumstances and the hospital is doing all it can to ensure that this increased demand can be met. This includes reaching out to the community with a message to businesses or individuals who may have surplus unopened, and unexpired personal protective equipment, like masks and gloves that could be donated to PRH.
The Pembroke Regional Hospital CEO and President says many businesses and people have offered services and others have offered or provided us with donated items they may be able to use.
Items needed are:
- hand sanitizer
- N95 masks
- surgical masks (with or without visors)
- latex-free gloves
- disinfectant wipes
- protective eyewear (shields, safety goggles)
- Level 2 isolation gowns
Those who may have these items available for donation are to asked to email pr@prh.email or call the Public Affairs and Communication office at (613) 732-2811 extension 6165 for instructions on where the items can be delivered.
