It was standing room only at Saturday night’s Drag Show in Renfrew. The event, which featured Queens with Valley connections, including performers from Pembroke, Westmeath and Carp, was a tremendous success. Nearly 170 people packed Club 180 for the show and the crowd raised over $1200 for PFlag and PRIDE Renfrew County. Organizer Chris Kyte, who was thrilled with the turnout, say she’s eternally grateful to the community, local businesses and volunteers who made the show a reality. Feedback from the audience was energetic and enthusiastic, with many of them saying they are eagerly awaiting the next event. Kyte says she’s already looking to June to organize a day of events for PRIDE month, including another evening drag show and hopes to bring a Burlesque show to Renfrew in the Spring.
