Seven hundred metres of smooth, glass-like ice for your skating pleasure. The town of Renfrew’s Recreation Department revealed its new skating oval at Ma-Te-Way on Tuesday. Renfrew Councillor and chair of the Rec committee, Tom Sidney says it was an idea made possible thanks to those involved with another event.
Mikhail Kabakov, along with his sons Leo and Ryan, were the first to try out Ma-Te-Way’s new skating oval.
Sidney, sees future potential in the venue, but says it’s limited to day use for the moment.
You can find the oval at the end of Belanger Road behind the dog park.
