Pre-trial for the case against a former Calabogie bartender took place at the Pembroke courthouse this morning (January 9th, 2020). Justice Michael March has requested a defence election be made next month and so another court date has been set. Anne Senack is charged with two counts each of criminal negligence causing death and criminal negligence causing bodily harm. Senack was working at the former Shooter’s Bar and Grill on the night of October 27th of 2017, when 18-year-olds Brandon Hanniman and Alex Paquette were killed in a car crash after leaving her place of work. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which took place along Calabogie Road near Burnstown. 18-year-old Ben Scheuneman and Jake McGrimmon, their teammates on the Renfrew Timberwolves, were seriously injured. The matter returns to the court in Pembroke on February 6th.
