It’s a good reminder to brush off all the snow and ice from your vehicle before heading out on the roads. Police have charged a driver in Calabogie after they failed to pull over and continued for a kilometre, likely not noticing the cruiser following behind them with their flashing lights on. Constable Tina Hunt with the Renfrew detachment of the OPP says depending on the circumstances, drivers could face a number of charges. She says if there’s no collision involved, you could be hit with a $110 fine for not clearing off your front, sides and back window.
Hunt adds if there’s a collision involved, you could face a careless driving charge which carries a fine between $490 and $2,000. The vehicle that was pulled over near Calabogie had the windows, lights and plates snow covered.
