Arnprior Regional Health’s (ARH) Mammography Unit has been re-accredited by the Canadian Association of Radiologists for meeting Cancer Care Ontario standards that confirm its delivery of high-quality mammography services.
ARH provides local community members with digital mammography, thanks to the generosity of donor support.
The Mammography Unit received its accreditation based on its processes, quality of care, and its radiologists and technologists meeting the evaluation criteria.
Annually, ARH performs 2,750 mammograms, providing the highest quality of life-saving screening and diagnostic care, right here at home without the stress of travel.
The team works with referral partners in Ottawa and Pembroke to ensure patients are booked for a timely follow-up biopsy, if needed.
Because of programs like ARH’s and treatment advancements, there has been a 44% decrease in breast cancer deaths since 1988.
The accreditation is for a maximum three-year period.
