Carleton Place is known as a fine dining destination, so it’s only fitting that Black Tartan Kitchen Chef Ian Carswell has won a big accolade.
Carswell and his team won’t have far to travel to the finals of the event.
He says while the national finals are normally held in Kelowna BC, this time the Canada’s Great Kitchen Party Competition will be held in the Nation’s capital.
Chef Carswell says the idea was that the winning entree should reflect Lanark County when plated.
His dish was lamb with neeps and tatties.
Carswell views it as a milestone in Black Tartan Kitchen history, achieved in only the restaurant’s third year in operation.
