Work has been going on behind the scenes in Arnprior to delve into the root causes of poverty in the community and to work on strategies aimed at alleviation.
Client Services Administrator Oliver Jacob say the Town’s Anti-Poverty Committee has been working on the file for just over a year and a half.
Jacob says the Anti-Poverty Committee in Arnprior is a well-rounded body, with representation from thirteen key stakeholders.
The Arnprior Client Services Administrator says the Committee is now ready for the next phase of its work-public consultation.
Jacob says there will be two dates for the community consultations:
Thursday, November 28th between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM and Friday, November 29th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The sessions will be held at the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church on Baskin Drive West.
Feedback is being sought around five key topics in conjunction with the The Monarch Park Group consultants, who worked on Ontario’s Poverty Reduction strategy with the former Liberal administration, among other clients.
