A local company has been recognized for two beers they produce at the 2019 Ontario Brewing Awards. Whitewater Brewing Company picked up a gold medal for their Farmer’s Daughter beer in the Pale American Ale category and another gold in the Pale Commonwealth Beer category for Class V. President of Whitewater Brewing Company, Chris Thompson, says it’s nice to be recognized for their hard work over the past six years.
The award ceremony took place on September 12th in Toronto. Thompson says it’s the first time they’ve won a brewing award for their product. He adds they have two new drinks coming to shelves shortly. In a few weeks, a cranberry sour, fall seasonal beer, called the Wild Bog will be introduced. Thompson says in November they are also bringing back the Peanut Butter Shake which is a brewer’s take on a classic drink.
Ridge Rock Brewing Company out of Carp also won bronze in the American Porter and Stout category with the Ridge Rock Stout.
