Carleton Place Town Council has been updated on plans for a new emergency room facility at Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH).
CPDMH Chief Executive Mary Wilson Trider told council at their most recent meeting that the hospital emergency sees 18,000 visits on an annual basis, and those numbers have been growing about five percent each year.
Wilson Trider says the emerg expansion plans are moving right along.
With 10.5 thousand square feet, the new CPDMH Emergency Room will offer 11 examination rooms.
The CPDMH CEO says the new Emergency will be put up where a parking lot stands now.
She says the new Emergency Room facility should be operative by 2022.
