POTENTIAL NEW SUBDIVISION MOVES FROM ARNPRIOR COUNCIL TO COUNTY COUNCIL AFTER A FEW CHANGES
10/10/2018 7:33:37 AM

The people came. The Town heard. The changes were made. A bylaw to support the creation of a 147 unit subdivision at the former Arnprior Fairgrounds has cleared Council and is off to County. Mayor David Reid says Council has addressed issues brought up at a Public Meeting in September.

The Mayor says the developer, Juliada Holdings, is now giving over the equivalent of four lots and cash as part of its subdivision agreement. The lands bordering Fairview Park will be combined to make a bigger, active park with amenities. The other big issue raised was Daniel Street traffic, and how putting houses on the Fairgrounds could increase congestion. Reid says there will be two new traffic lights on Daniel going in right off, with a third to possibly follow. The County of Renfrew has approval for subdivisions, and the main artery, Daniel Street is a County Road.
