INQUEST INTO THE DEATH OF DANNIEL MILTON WRAPS UP WITH MULTIPLE RECOMMENDATIONS 9/21/2018 8:10:57 AM
The Chief Coroner's office has thirteen jury recommendations following the Danniel Milton inquest. Milton was struck by a passenger vehicle and killed while working construction on Highway 17 between Renfrew and Arnprior in 2016. Crown counsel, Jeffrey Richardson, says the recommendations will have to be reviewed before any changes are made.
Richardson says it can take up to two years for those recommendations to be implemented. Some of which include reducing traffic speeds on both sides of the road, placing additional signage reminding drivers that workers are present and that all close calls involving vehicles and workers be reported to the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Transportation and local authorities.
