A travelling exhibition from the Bruce County Museum is making a timely stop in Arnprior. "Freemasonry: A History Hidden in Plain Sight," makes its debut at the Arnprior and District Museum today (Tuesday September 11th) and continues to October 26th. Curator Janet Carlile is expecting the show will be well-attended, given that 2018 marks the 150th Anniversary of the local chapter, Madawaska Lodge No. 196.

Carlile says part of the mystic surrounding freemasonry is not so much its secrecy-- these were local men in the community who just wanted to do good works without much fanfare. The Museum is open Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for this special exhibit. Admission is by donation.
