ARNPRIOR RESIDENTS PACK COUNCIL CHAMBERS TO OPPOSE NEW SUBDIVISION 9/11/2018 8:16:00 AM
Putting a new neighbourhood in the former Arnprior Fair Grounds may only add to already bad traffic congestion on Daniel Street. That's the worry of a group of residents who packed Council Chambers Monday to have their say at a public meeting on the matter. Sixteen residents spoke with concerns ranging from what they perceive as insufficient park land to strains on stormwater dispersal, but first and foremost, traffic volumes were on everyone's mind.
Elizabeth Nadeau had taken a petition to County to ban on-street parking on Daniel Street 18 months ago. Mayor David Reid says although Daniel Street is a County Road, the two levels of government hope to heed most everyone's concerns in going forward with the Fairgrounds subdivision plan.
