WALK FOR PARKINSON'S RAISES $24,000 9/10/2018 5:20:16 PM
It's money that will go a long way in providing much needed research for Parkinson's disease. The annual walk in Renfrew Sunday morning was a resounding success according to Alan Muir from Parkinson's Canada.
Donna McWhirter, an organizer of the event, lost her father to Parkinson's and she recognizes the contributions of the community in raising awareness and trying to find a cure.
Last year's walk raised just over $21 000. The walk had the support of local businesses, such as Renfrew Pizzeria and Domino's, which donated sales from pizzas to the cause.
