The Mississippi Mills Fire Department has received 120 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through Project Zero. The initiative is a public education campaign sponsored by Enbridge Gas that is providing more than 6,600 alarms to residents in 30 Ontario municipalities. This year, Enbridge invested $200,000 in Project Zero. Acting Fire Chief Bruce Toshack notes the Mississippi Mills Fire Department has responded to 14 carbon monoxide calls to date in 2018. He says "Partnering with Enbridge is another way of ensuring the residents of Mississippi Mills have working smoke/CO alarms in their residences."
