Mississippi Mills has succeded in upscaling the planned bridge railings on the Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail (OVRT) through Almonte.
That's the Town's Chief Administrative Officer Ken Becking, who says it's a win for the community.
A last-minute call from Becking to his counterpart at Lanark County is what got the specs changed for the project, planned for this summer. The bridges, as part of the OVRT, are owned by the County of Lanark. Mississippi Mills will pay $78 000 dollars to cover the cost of upgrading the construction contract.
