WATER LEVELS BEGINING TO NORMALIZE IN MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
5/11/2018 9:00:07 AM
Good news when it comes to flood risks. The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority is saying the water levels appear to be stabilizing. The MVCA says that while some nuisance flooding has occurred, yesterday's rainfall wasn't enough to have an impact AND that no significant rainfall is forecasted for the next five days. Water levels are expected to gradually decline to normal summer levels over the next two weeks unless a significant weather system passes through. Residents are being advised that river water is fast moving and very cold this time of year and that river and streambanks are slippery.
