In Mississippi Mills, councillors are mulling over what their successors on the next council should be paid. Committee-of-the-Whole Chairperson Christa Lowry says it won't be a case of comparing apples to apples.
Staff is proposing councillors should be paid $17,435 a year to fulfill their duties, but with fewer ward representatives there are concerns committee workloads may increase. The Mayor's salary is currently proposed at $34,140 a year. The new Deputy Mayor would be paid $20,678.
