MORE FUNDRAISING NEEDED AS LOCAL RATES OF DEMENTIA RISE 3/13/2018 3:37:08 PM
Right now, there are 20,000 people currently diagnosed with dementia in Ottawa and Renfrew County. That number is expected to double in the next 10 years. We can help those affected by the disease through the annual Walk for Dementia coming up May 12th at Tunney's Pasture in Ottawa. Co-chair for the walk, John Wilson from Renfrew says all the money raised supports those need.
Wilson also has a personal connection with dementia as both of his parents suffered with the disease. Register your teams or as an individual by going to www.walkfordementia.ca. This year's fundraising goal is $300,000.
