RESIDENTS CONCERNED WITH ARNPRIOR COUNCIL'S PLAN TO SELL SURPLUS LAND 3/13/2018 7:24:01 AM
Residents of Allan Drive in Arnprior are giving up some perceived parkland. A group of residents attended Arnprior Town Council Monday (March 12th) as elected representatives approved a plan to sell the land as three lots by open tender. Alexis Barr tells Oldies 107.7 residents fear the package may come back to haunt them as townhouses.
Both Mayor Reid and Reeve Walter Stack gave assurances the lots are zone for single-family dwellings, but there would be little to thwart someone seeking a zoning amendment from the next Council.
Reid says there are twelve other situations where surplus land will be put up for sale, and the reserve monies used for the proposed Waterfront Park development.
