While they haven't said if they believe one person's version of event over another, the PC party says it's closing the investigation into the allegations against Randy Hillier.   The MPP for Lanark Frontenac Lennox and Addington was accused by a fellow party member of physical intimidation. Goldie Ghamari, then just rumoured to be challenging Lisa MacLeod for the Tory nomination in the Nepean Carleton riding, alleges that the incident happened when Hillier came up to her at the party convention in 2016. She says the MPP was intoxicated when he threw an arm around her shoulders to pull her in tight, waved a cigarette in her face and warned her, she'd better not get in Lisa Macleod's way. For his part, Hillier acknowledges that they spoke but disputes Ghamari's claims of initimidation and says he never came within five feet of her. Ghamari has since won the nomination in the south Ottawa riding of Carleton. The PC Party's communications director says in a statement that a highly reputable, independent third party investigator was hired to look into the allegations and determined that no further action is warranted.
